Alabama Goodwill receives a warm Huntsville welcome!

HUNTSVILLE, October 11, 2021 — Alabama Goodwill Industries (AGI) is once again investing in Huntsville’s workforce thanks to the generosity of the North Alabama community.

“The opening of our University store and donation center is due to the outstanding support of the Huntsville community. Every time someone donates their goods or shops our stores, 100% of their impact stays local,” said President and CEO David Wells.

Located at 7105 Hwy 72 West in Huntsville, the 21,000 square foot Shopping and Donation Center features a donation drive thru, skills training center and of course interesting and unique items for sale. The new site brings Goodwill’s recent job creation total to 85 jobs in the Madison and Huntsville communities.

“In addition to job creation, this site will also create revenue that we’ll be able to reinvest into the community to fight unemployment and inequities through our various programs,” Wells added.

To accomplish this mission, AGI currently offers digital literacy trainings, career readiness curriculums, skills trainings and certifications free of charge to central and north Alabama communities.

During its 4-day Grand Opening celebration, team members were able to greet 113 donors, and more than 5,000 shoppers.

Thank you, Huntsville!
