The mission of Alabama Goodwill Industries, Inc. is to provide prevocational evaluation, work adjustment services, community-based supported employment, and support services to the mentally and physically disabled, disadvantaged, and chronically unemployed to assist them in maximizing their employment potential, ability to obtain earned income level of individual functioning.

This mission has four components:

  1. Employment opportunities within the Corporation through the work services or competitive jobs developed through corporate growth and community placement programs.
  2. Training in the form of specific skills and the development of appropriate work behaviors and habits.
  3. Counseling and Guidance in the maintenance or preparation of independent functioning within general society.
  4. Transitional Services with consumer movement throughout the facility programming into community employment opportunities. These services are assist individuals in finding jobs in the competitive market or continuing to offer services as they continue to develop the needed skills/habits to the possible goal of competitive employment.

A continuum of services has been designed to implement the element of Goodwill’s Mission.
