Alabama Goodwill Opens Tuscaloosa Location

Alabama Goodwill Industries (AGI) has opened a new store and donation center in Tuscaloosa and celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting on February 9th.

“All of us are proud to be expanding our mission in Tuscaloosa, but this growth wouldn’t be possible without the community’s tremendous support,” said President and CEO David Wells.

Located at 1140 Veterans Memorial Parkway, the newly reconstructed site features a donation drive thru, skills training center, and retail store full of the interesting and unique items Alabama Goodwill is known for. Most importantly, Alabama Goodwill has created 27 new jobs for Tuscaloosa community members who may face various barriers to employment.

“Thanks to our donors, we are able to keep our stores stocked full and fresh, and we are excited to invite everyone in to find their treasures in Tuscaloosa. At AGI, our store revenues are directly reinvested into the community to provide direct employment, upskilling, and other resources free of charge for our neighbors in need,” Wells added.

AGI’s mission supports Alabamians with barriers to employment through job creation, free skills trainings, work-based learning, and other curriculums and free services. In 2021 alone, the organization provided more than 400 Alabamians with new opportunity and stability through its GOOD Jobs direct employment opportunities. Additionally, hundreds of community members and students were served through their GOOD Works and GOOD Futures programs.

The new store and donation drive thru will operate Monday-Saturdays from 9:00AM to 7:00PM, and on Sundays from 11:00AM – 4:00PM. To see more details, visit www.alabamagoodwill.org/tuscaloosa.
